Such an ideal hotel for those who has early flight or just a short stay. It got everything we need. Countdown & warehouse just next to the hotel. Complimentary cereal & hot beverages.
So thoughtful of the hotel to have a play area for the kids which my son enjoyed it very much.
There is an airport shuttle too which cost 6 nzd pp. Free for children under 12.
Very nice place, magnificent view, in the heart of the nature of the island! The room was spacious with a nice bed and a nice kitchen well equipped for cooking! The bathroom was ok! Only negative side: many mosquitoes and many spiders!
Stayed at AKL Kiwi for a night before early flight to ZQN the next day. Getting to the hotel via shuttle (yellow bus) was straightforward but you need to carry your own bags on/off the bus. Hotel had 2 floors and if your bags are heavy and your room on 2nd floor, there are no elevators .
Room-wise it was OK but door knob was quite weirdly placed (I'm 5'10” and had to bend down to insert key into the lock). Quiet location, clean but no elevators.
Room 101 was out through the first floor fire exit door, which led down to the car park. We couldn't have the curtains open because the windows overlooked another multi storied carpark and even if we did there was not a lot of natural light coming in.
We couldn't have the window open because of the outside noise which went on until gone 7pm and started up again at 4.15 am making sleep almost impossible.
The main room was compact and tidy but the toilet cum shower room was tiny and cramped. The bed was comfortable though.
I would recommend asking for a room on the upper levels.
Budget is a key word for this hotel.
More a hostel with private rooms than a hotel. Good for 1 night but I wouldn't recommend for a longer stay.
I stayed in double studio. There's no furniture in the room except bed, tv stand and one stool so you end up doing everything on bed. No bedside table, night lamp etc, only ceiling light (switch is located far away from bed). Can't fully unpack as there is no wardrobe. There's small cupboard with rail and 3 hangers but it's so high, it's impossible to reach those hangers. The double studio has a small kitchenette with hot plates and sink. Cooking is not expected as no pots or utensils are available (removing the kitchenette and adding wardrobe or desk would likely be more beneficial to customers).
On the plus side, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, microwave and iron is available in the room.
Location is very convenient, very close by or in short walking distance to main attractions. Noise from outside can be disturbing late into the night, especially during the weekends.
Easy to get to/from the airport with SkyCity bus which is just couple blocks away.
I am very thankful got to stay at Airport Kiwi Motel as I left my bag on the yellow bus and reception gentleman helped me to track it back for me wothout missing anything. The room is spacious and cups and bowls with other kitchen items are very helpful and clean. just that i heard neighour room's noise like kids talking and adult snooring :D I will book again if i need to change flights in short days.
Very busy and vibrant hostel with a bar attached. The bed was comfy but the room was lacking furniture - there was a chair but no proper table. Shared washrooms were well kept by everyone. A little distance from the main shopping area but near to sky tower (where you can get a chartered bus from the airport).
Don't bother to do pre check-in online - they asked for a card for deposit / incidentals, and the card got charged for the rooms even though I have paid trip.com. Although the staff was prompt to do refunds, but lost like $20 on unnecessary fx rates and credit card fees. You will need to give your details onsite anyways, so save the time on something else.
It would be better if the staff were more welcoming, but I guess it is tough with so many guests to handle every minute.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's proximity to the airport made it an ideal choice for my travels, but it was the outstanding service, impressive facilities, and delicious food that truly made my stay memorable.
The service at the Gateway Airport Hotel was top-notch. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. From the warm greeting at check-in to the helpful assistance with my luggage, every interaction I had with the staff was pleasant and professional.
The hotel's facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a plush bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a convenient workspace. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed, with a great shower and plenty of towels. I also appreciated the hotel's fitness center and business center, which were both well-equipped and easily accessible.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The hotel's restaurant served a delicious breakfast buffet, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. I also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, which offered a great selection of local and international dishes. The food was tasty, well-presented, and reasonably priced.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere. The combination of excellent service, modern facilities, and delicious food made for a truly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and memorable place to stay in Auckland.

The facilities are complete, and there is a commercial center across the road, which is very convenient for daily life and shopping. There is a transportation hub in the center, which is also convenient for travel.

GGuest UserThis praise is not given to the boss, but to several service personnel. When I checked out on March 10, I forgot the wallet with Australian dollar cash and bank card in the room. When I went to the hotel again, my wallet was still there. In particular, I would like to thank a male young staff member who works on Sunday. I explained the situation, he took me to the room to find it, and found it. Thank you very much for this young man. Send this praise to him and other service staff. Thank you!
EEVGENIIThis Auckland hotel left a lasting impression. The rooms were thoughtfully appointed, offering a serene retreat from the bustling city. The hotel's commitment to sustainability was commendable, with eco-friendly practices integrated throughout. Overall, it was a delightful experience that embodied the essence of Auckland's natural beauty. The rooms were well-appointed and maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. The staff's warm hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile made our stay truly memorable.

GGuest UserChecked in on Christmas Day. After checking in in the afternoon, the kids wanted to drink mineral water. The nearby shops were not open. May at the reception was very friendly and took out 2 bottles of mineral water from her car. Thank her very much. Because of her, I can give a good review to the hotel.

NNiloOverall great hotel! Around 8 minutes away from the Airport and 28 minutes away from CBD. This is a great airport hotel. It is still pretty new so it is very clean. The staffs were also nice and helpful. Could improve on amenities provided but overall a wonderful stay :) thank you! (Didnt take a photo when I stayed so uploading instead a view from Mt eden! :)
JJUNThe hotel facilities are too old, but the rooms are big enough. The location of the hotel is very good, just at the seaside of Half Moon Bay, a few steps away from the door to see the pier full of private yachts. Supermarkets and restaurants are also nearby, and the walking distance is only 20-30 meters.
